The 1920's were a time of prosperity, new culture and innovation. There were many icons that represented the decade. For example Charles Lindbergh, made the first non stop flight to the Atlantic Ocean. Also, During the 1920's there were women called flappers who were a new breed of young women who wore short skirts bobbed their hair and pretty much didn't care about what men or other people thought about them. There was Henry Ford to who was a great example of innovation in the 20's and he made a unbelievable breakthrough in the automobile industry by creating the first car known to man. There were many talented musicians such as Bessie Smith and Duke Ellington. The 1920's wasn't always the best times, there was a lot of violence in this decade. There were people fighting against the prohibition laws, For ex, Al Capone who wasn't to thrilled about the ban of Alcohol started a business selling illegal alcohol and started making billions. There was the Return of the KKK, they also contributed to the violence terrorizing and ethnic group of African Americans. The decade ended with the crash of the stock market and The Great Depression.
